Then God said, “Let us make human beings in Our image, to be like Us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.
Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Please note that all authority was given to Adam to rule over the animals, fish, birds and every thing that crept on the earth. Adam named all that was under his leadership and authority.
He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him. It was never the Lord God's intent for man to rule over mankind. Even when the Lord God made a helper for Adam, she was to assist him with his responsibilities in managing the real estate, but she was never to be ruled over by Adam.
Keep in mind, Adam was to lead by example, not by dictating to his helper, or wife, Eve, as Adam later named her. She was to be his wife, not his slave. Being that the woman was made from Adam, they became known as mankind, because she was taken from man. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.
“At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’”
Keep in mind, true leaders understand who they are in the Kingdom and what their purpose and assignment is. They influence their environment more than their environment influences them. They are 'catalysts'. They change the environment, while not being changed by it. A true leader could walk into a club or bar and not be influenced. In fact, the environment around them would begin to change into a Kingdom environment. That's the power of great leadership in the Kingdom!
Have you noticed in your society, when some people find themselves in financial difficulty, they immediately start working on solutions for their problem? That is a good thing, but not the best! Others, on the other hand, panic, lose hope, surrender to their circumstances and become immobilized by their debt and fear.
True leaders allow the Governor--the Holy Spirit--to lead and guide them. That is the first place they should turn. They consult the Holy Spirit--our Governor--first. Then they wait for an answer and the direction in which they should go. They wait on the Lord. Remember what the Lord Jesus stated: When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future.
In order for one to become a great leader, they must first learn how to follow! If you don't know how to follow instructions, you will never make a great---or even good--leader. That is why it is so important to be led and guided by the Holy Spirit, our Governor. By the way, the Holy Spirit will never force you to follow His lead. You must love King Jesus enough to want to follow Him. Remember, the Holy Spirit is an extension of the Lord God Himself.
“If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him, because He lives with you now and later will be in you." Note that He said forever! If you want to become a great leader, learn to follow instructions from you Lord and King. King Jesus made this command, speaking to His disciples, which by the way applies to us as well. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today."
Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in the Word of God.
