Image by kinkate from Pixabay The Lord Jesus was the obedient and faithful Son of God. He never wavered in His purpose and assignment. He never mixed His feelings with His Father’s assignment. Remember when Mary and Joseph lost Jesus when He was twelve years old? So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.”
And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them. Luke 2:45-50
"I must be about My Father's business." Kingdom Business!
Even His cousin John stayed within the borders of His purpose and assignment. In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is He who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’” … I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. John 3:1-3, 11
Keep in mind, John never went off on his own thing, but stayed true to his purpose. Too many leaders claim to be called by my Father and King, but preach everything except the Kingdom message. One purpose of the Kingdom message is to make the saints aware of the King’s protection and His provision while they are here in this three dimensional world. He made this very clear while speaking to His disciples. “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” Matthew 6:25-27
In the Kingdom of God, all of our needs are provided for. I say this confidently because we have lived it! The King’s Son was always focused on His Father’s purpose and message. The question is why aren’t those who say they are called to preach, preaching the same message as Jesus?
Remember, being a citizen of God’s Kingdom means having the Holy Spirit residing inside of your mortal body. Read Matthew chapter 13 and see that all He spoke of was life with the Holy Spirit. He never spoke of the politics of that time or how to become rich. He didn’t need to because He had access to His Father.
Keep in mind, in order for one to be in His Kingdom, one must be born again through His Word and by His Spirit. This is a process. The same goes for everyone. I may challenge you with this thought: If someone is preaching the Gospel, but without God’s Kingdom government being taught, it is a false and incomplete gospel because they do not teach what King Jesus taught. It is a gospel with no “meat”! When a preacher/teacher fails to teach His Kingdom message, they delay His return. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:10-14
We, as teachers and preachers of the Gospel, must always stay focused on the message King Jesus taught—God’s Kingdom. That is our responsibility. Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men—the Man Christ Jesus—who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 2 Timothy 2:1-7
Whether or not mankind embraces the Truth, I still must stay true and obedient to my purpose and assignment and I pray you will also! Think about this: Jesus never taught or preached about Himself. This was His message: But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 From the very beginning of His assignment, right after He came from the wilderness, His message was about the Kingdom. From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17 He spoke parables, He spoke of healings and provision. They all were describing what life in God’s Kingdom was like! All of this was a part of His assignment while here on this earth. He did not only come here to die for our sins; He brought His Father’s Kingdom!
Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping Him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire. Hebrews 12:28-29 NLT
Remember, your faith in His Word is your greatest asset in His Kingdom.
