When He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. John 16:13-15
Remember that the Holy Spirit is the real teacher. Once you have Him living in you, He will operate according to the King’s Word. Ambassador John put it this way in his first letter: I am writing these things to warn you about those who want to lead you astray. But you have received the Holy Spirit, and He lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what He teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as He has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. 1 John 2:265-27 NLT
It is vital that we embrace the King’s Word in order to receive the Holy Spirit. By the way, the Governor is the indwelling of the Father and Son. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. John 14:21
The key to the Kingdom is to love and be obedient to His Word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, our Governor. Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.” John 14:23-24
Keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is our Kingdom Governor. He represents the King while we are being led by Him. The Holy Spirit is the chief representative for the King. So when you claim to be representing the King, you are saying that the Holy Spirit is leading you to do what you are doing. When we don’t know what to do, or where to go, He is the light going before us leading the way. Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. Ephesians 5:8-9 NLT
As I write these articles, I do it under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He governs me as I submit to His leading. Submission is key. I am an example of being submitted to and guided by the Holy Spirit. My wife Arlene is another example of a Kingdom citizen being guided by the Holy Spirit. It is a process of growth. He is our teacher. Believe me when I say this; without the Governor in my life I would be doing everything in my own strength and that would be unproductive!
Keep in mind, that when someone says that they can't live up to God's Word. When they say that they can't do it, that is a religious perspective. No you can't do it on your own. Submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit. His way is far easier. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
When you are doing according to His Word you have peace of mind every day. You see things from a different perspective. Your focus is on pleasing your Lord and King. Your spouse will notice that. They will see a change in you! Things that used to upset you cease to have any effect on you any longer because you are allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you. The Holy Spirit will lead and guide you, but will not make you do anything against your will. You must choose to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in obedience. When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future. John 16:13 NLT
In a colony of a kingdom, it was the governor that the citizens had access to. They were governed and led by the governor. Their connection to the King was through their governor. That was why he was sent. He was to represent the King to his citizens. This is one of the duties of the Holy Spirit. He keeps us connected to the King. The Lord Jesus isn’t here on the earth. He had to return to the Father so He could send us the Holy Spirit until the Lord Jesus returns. These aren’t just my thoughts, but the words of King Jesus: And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. . . These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I. John 14:16-17, 25-28 As our Governor, the Holy Spirit may only speak the words of the King.
We are a Kingdom colony of Heaven and Heaven’s laws and principles rule over its Kingdom here on earth. The Governor understands the words, desires, ideas, intent, purposes, will, and plans of the King. He is the only one who can effectively interpret those things to the colony. One thing I love of the Governor is that I don’t have to explain anything to Him. He knows my heart and innermost thoughts.
It is the same Holy Spirit residing in you that goes into the dark places to shine God’s light and all that was dark is brought into the light, leading others out of that darkness. You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14-16 NLT Shine!
Remember, your faith in His Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
