After the Lord God created Adam (mankind), He gave him an assignment. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” That is correct. Mankind is supposed to rule and manage the three dimensional world, but not enslave other men. That was the Lord God's intent. But after mankind (Adam) became disobedient (which is sin), the Lord God had to remove Adam and his helper Eve from their perfect environment because their sin would contaminate it.
Please take note: The Lord God created Adam with a will, one that he could choose. At that time, the trees and what grew on them, the Lord recommended for their food; not the killing of any animals, birds or fish. And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. This was all before Adam made a choice to disobey his Creator and God. His assignment was to rule and manage every living thing, other than mankind.
Before the fall of man, there was only one purpose to love and obey his God with all his heart, mind and soul. Later the Lord God had to put it in writing to His representative by the name of Moses. “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Now remember these words, His intent from the beginning hasn't changed, but His method and process has. That is because when Adam ate of the tree of knowledge, a whole floodgate of thoughts invaded the mind of mankind. By the way, the evil one (Satan) was the cause of this invasion of the mind. The Devil's purpose was to destroy the relationship that the Lord God had with Adam (mankind).
Our purpose is to love the Lord God with all of our being. I didn't say love and obey religion or denomination. The Lord Jesus Himself quoted it: “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
When you are filled with the Governor (the Holy Spirit) He will make you aware of your purpose and then assign your mission, and not before. So many of us have been involved in this world system in some way or another. We can't hear His voice. We have to go through the process of being detoxed from much of the knowledge we have acquired. Then we will hear more clearly. Remember our purpose is to love, worship and obey God. But our mission is to serve His people in some way. That is where listening to His direction. Keep your spiritual ears clear and listening. He's got a mission for you. An assignment you were created for. But when that has been accomplished, there will be another assignment... and another...and another. One purpose--to love the Lord God; many assignments.
Yes, you will be on a "mission from God" as they say. And one day He will say well done.
Remember, your greatest asset on this mission is your faith in the Lord Jesus the Christ.
