The source of your potential is in your Creator. If you want to know how you are to function, go to the source. The one who created you, not to the one He created. Your potential wasn't given to you by mankind but through the Lord God Himself. When you were born, your potential was in you, dormant, waiting to be brought out. The Lord Jesus came to bring your potential out of you through your faith in Him. There were many occasions where the Lord Jesus proved this fact. Do you recall what He said to the woman with the issue of blood? Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind Him. She touched the fringe of His robe, for she thought, “If I can just touch His robe, I will be healed.”
Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment. In that case, it was the woman's faith in the King that made her well.
There was another case where the King asked a question. After Jesus left the girl’s home, two blind men followed along behind Him, shouting, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”
They went right into the house where He was staying, and Jesus asked them, “Do you believe I can make you see?”
“Yes, Lord,” they told Him, “we do.”
Then He touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.” Then their eyes were opened, and they could see! Jesus sternly warned them, “Don’t tell anyone about this.”
Keep in mind, it was their faith in Him that brought out their potential. Not faith in themselves or those around them.
We must always remember to bring all the potential that is in you to the Lord God. Remember what He stated to His representative Isaiah. I, the Lord, have called you to demonstrate my righteousness. I will take you by the hand and guard you, and I will give you to my people, Israel, as a symbol of my covenant with them. And you will be a light to guide the nations. You will open the eyes of the blind. You will free the captives from prison, releasing those who sit in dark dungeons. This is why we should obey and follow His instructions. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Your very essence relies on your faith in His Word. Those who truly love the Lord Jesus have no problem keeping His Word. If you love me, obey my commandments.
When the Lord Jesus was here on earth, He was the the embodiment of the Kingdom. Read what He told John's disciples when John inquired if He was the King: John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?”
Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Gospel is being preached to the poor.”
Our potential is that power through our faith in, and obedience to, Him. When you see those signs--the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Gospel is being preached to the poor.--you know the Kingdom is here. However most people call them miracles, but in essence, it is the Kingdom of God in operation here on earth.
When the Lord God created you, He placed within you the potential to accomplish your God-given purpose and assignment to finish while you are here on earth. He gave it to you, not another man or woman. But the only way you will discover your true purpose is by getting closer to Him. That requires spending time in God's Word and obeying that Word. “And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and He will give you everything you need." In other words, seek the Kingdom first and He will bring out your potential. Your true potential will always be in line with the will of God for your life. Remember, the Lord God will never share the glory with any man. “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols."
Do you remember what the Lord God told the children of promise through Moses, His representative? “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day." NKJV
Keep in mind, King Saul had great potential to lead the Lord God's people, but he failed to be obedient to God's instructions. Saul was handsome and taller than the rest of the men. His son Saul was the most handsome man in Israel—head and shoulders taller than anyone else in the land. Even though Saul had the ability and potential, he failed to obey the Lord God's command. The Lord God instructed him through Samuel, His representative, to destroy ALL the people of Amelek. Samuel also said to Saul, “The Lord sent me to anoint you king over His people, over Israel. Now therefore, heed the voice of the words of the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt. Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ”

And remember that your greatest asset in the Kingdom is your faith in the Lord God and His Word.
