Image by Roman Grac from Pixabay Once you truly have faith in someone, you are more likely to do what they ask of you. You will be obedient. This was the case for Abraham: By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Hebrews 11:8-10 All of his actions were based upon his faith in his Lord and King. It is your faith alone that pleases the Lord God. What is more pleasing to the Lord: Your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to His voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. I Samuel 15:22 NLT
Now take note that it was Enoch’s faith that pleased the King! By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:5-6
No matter what you do, always remember that
without faith it is impossible to please God!
Several weeks ago, I had a dream where I was in pain, but I was instructed to conduct myself as if there was nothing wrong with my body. The Holy Spirit had instructed me to conduct myself as if my body had no pain. I really didn’t understand the dream fully. I was going through some pain with my left leg, but then I started getting pain with my other leg! The whole time I was praying and speaking to my King and Creator. While this was going on, Arlene was being attacked in her body as well. Then I recalled what the Governor told me to do and the words Jesus spoke: (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. Romans 4:17 Trusting God, we began speaking "I am being healed in Jesus' name." "I am healed by the blood of Jesus" That is our confession of faith that will not waver. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
Troubles and trials come to test our faith. They rise up and say, “Do you really have faith in God?” When you aim to please the King, you will ignore outside interferences and distractions. You are focused on pleasing your King. And to please Him, you must be obedient. It is the way you live that pleases the King. Noah believed what the Lord God told him, even though it was something he had never experienced before. It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith. Hebrews 11:7 NLT
Sadly, I have found that too many people have lost their faith in the King. They have followed the leadership of corrupt religious leaders who claim to know God but have no power operating in their lives! Faith spoken as an object, is passive and powerless! There is no action required in it. But feel the powerful call to action in Have faith in God!
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:22-24
It is that faith that keeps us strong as my wife and I go through some challenges in our bodies. Our faith gives us strength to hold strong to our King and His Word.
Has anyone ever asked you, If the God you serve is so good, why do bad things still happen to you? The Lord Jesus answered that question: “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-27 Check your foundation!
We must also trust Him enough to know He loves us, He knows our future & purpose, and sometimes His “No” is the very best for us! And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them. Romans 8:27-28 NLT I believe one of the best signs of spiritual maturity is being able to say “Nevertheless, not my will but Your Will be done in this situation.”! He knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if it is Your Will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My Will, but Yours, be done.” Luke 22:42
Our relationship with the Lord God has nothing to do with what happens to us as it relates to trials, tests, challenges, and assumed disappointments. The King doesn’t spare us from all the hardships of this life just because we are Kingdom citizens. He allows trails for the purpose of testing, strengthening, and purifying our faith in Him. Your God ordained purpose is far more important than temporary trials and/or pain. Learning to persevere through hardship molds and matures our character. The problem with the modern Americanized Christian teachings is that they don’t want to go through any kind of pain or testing. But that just isn’t in line with God’s Word. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:2-8 James tells it like it is!
Yes! Be strong in the Lord God and the power of His might! Ephesians 6:10
If you want to become strong in your faith in Him, you must be prepared to go through trials at times. Remember, the devil is only LIKE a roaring lion, attacking those who believe in the King. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.
In His kindness God called you to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, He will restore, support, and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation. 1 Peter 5:8-10 NLT
Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in the Lord God’s Word.
