Keep in mind, while the King was here on this earth, He taught these twelve the Kingdom in action, behavior and word. Now, His Father God had sent Him to reclaim the people here on earth whom He loved. If the Lord Jesus just wanted to die and give his life, He could have done that in a matter of days. He didn't have to live here on earth for thirty-three and a half years. He came here to teach us how to represent His Kingdom government as ambassadors for His Kingdom government, not as a member of a denomination or even as Christians. Anything that seeks to divide God's people isn't from God. There is only one law, obey His Word. When the King speaks, it is law. That is the only way you will be truly blessed. We also must not exalt any human above the Lord Jesus and that even included Mary, the mother of Jesus, as Catholics do. King Jesus put a stop to that right away, when He made this statement: As He was speaking, a woman in the crowd called out, “God bless your mother—the womb from which you came, and the breasts that nursed you!”
Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
Ambassadors don't gossip or hold arguments concerning things in this world's system. They are led by the Holy Spirit how to respond. “And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how to defend yourself or what to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said.”
While here on this earth, the Lord Jesus had many followers, but He only chose twelve to disciple. What I am saying, in essence, not all who preach and teach are called by the Lord Jesus to teach the Kingdom message He taught. One way that you can identify those in a profession rather than a calling, is if they are worth millions of dollars but only give a small fraction, if any at all, to the poor while have millions in their possessions. They do not have the heart of their Father. Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions.
Ambassadors of the Kingdom are constantly spreading the Kingdom message of their government. They demonstrate it in their words and behavior. They don't put money and possessions above King Jesus and His message. “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money."
While the King was teaching and training His disciples to become ambassadors, he told them where to go, who to go to, what to say and what to do. Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.
“Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
The writer Mark recorded it this way: And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts—but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics.
Also He said to them, “In whatever place you enter a house, stay there till you depart from that place. And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
So they went out and preached that people should repent. And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.
An ambassador represents his government, everywhere he puts his feet. He doesn't get involved in other government matters. We as ambassadors shouldn't be protesting, causing chaos or getting into religious debates. We are born again, into the Kingdom. You are an ambassador of the Kingdom of God and represent His government here on earth.
