“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today." In essence, put your total faith and trust in His hands.
When you know the Lord God's Will and purpose for your life, life seems to be less difficult and more meaningful. Now, there are individuals who have discovered a purpose but it isn't what the Lord God has for their life. It is usually about self-gratification, financial independence, fame and power; nothing more than the devil's tools to keep you from putting your priorities in order. They are a distraction from your purpose. When you fail to allow the Holy Spirit guide you to your purpose and assignment. You also make yourself vulnerable to others misguided agendas. Life without a divine purpose is like a man who has perfect vision in a pitch black room, trying to find his way out, holding and grabbing on to everything he touches. Without a divine purpose, you fail to find your direction in this world. Note I mentioned "divine" purpose. You can have a vision but if you don't know your purpose from the Lord God you could be heading down the wrong path. King Solomon wrote: When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful. If you don't know your purpose from the Lord God, your revelation could lead you down the wrong path. Only a divine revelation will lead you to a divine purpose. Let's go back to the beginning. The devil gave Eve a revelation, but it wasn't from the Creator. The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”
“Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’”
“You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” It was a new revelation that Eve received, but it wasn't "divine" knowledge. In essence, if you aren't filled with the Governor, meaning the Holy Spirit, the devil will lead you on a wild ride. By the way, the devil uses people, who aren't being led of the Holy Spirit, to mislead you. If you are led by the Holy Spirit you are in the family of the Lord God. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.” For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
Your assignment in this world hinges on the divine Will of the King. If we obey His Word, He will give us His divine purpose for our lives. “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in His love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other.
If we embrace His Word in our life, He will show us our divine assignment and purpose for our life. “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him, because He lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you." Now remember, even though He was speaking to His disciples, those very same words apply to all believers in the King and Lord, Jesus the Christ. There are many people who have a purpose, assignment and mission in this life but it isn't a divine one, meaning it didn't come from the Holy Spirit. Keep in mind that a life with divine purpose is a directed life. That purpose will always line up with God's Word. If you are hearing a purpose that is contrary to the Word of God, it is not from God. He will never contradict Himself. A life without a divine purpose is a depressing life. That is the major cause of suicide, even among believers. Having a divine purpose protects you from being busy but not effective. I am a living example of that statement. So keep seeking and praying for God to show you your divine purpose in this life! “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." NKJV
And remember, your faith in the Lord God's Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
