Why do I tell you this little story of running errands and shopping? Our need wasn't an emergency, or a life/death situation. What is shows is that He cares about us, provides and directs to that provision if we will listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit. My wife and I are learning to trust and live by our faith in Him in our lifestyle and in our everyday behavior. Faith is built through these moments. Read what the ambassador Paul said to the Hebrew believers: And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.
Keep in mind, the Lord and King responds to your faith in Him, not your religious beliefs in your Christianity or your Christian faith. So Jesus and his disciples got up and went with him. Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe, for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”
Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment.
Even here in the "Bible belt", where most everyone claims to be saved and part of a Christian denomination, panic in time of crisis and a lack of faith is predominant. They call on the Lord God, but fail to acknowledge His Son. They pray but their actions only show fear. Their faith is shaken in a time of crisis. “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
Now read what the Lord Jesus said in John: Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. Also this: Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. He made it very clear, allowing for no exceptions. My question then is, why do religious people continue to call on the Lord God, rather than His Son Jesus? Kingdom citizens have a Kingdom mindset, and therefore acknowledge the Lord Jesus' authority and the Lord God as His Father. We come to the Father through the Lord Jesus, our Savior.
I find far too many religious people confused and fail to know their God-given priorities. They put their faith in what their religious leaders say, rather than in the Lord God's Constitution (God's Word). On the other hand, people of this world system always call on God in a time of crisis; a God they really do not know at all. Then, when He doesn't respond as they want, they are angry at Him, that He would "allow" something so terrible to happen. Sadly, many Christians conduct themselves in the same manner. That shows a lack of God's Word in their life. But those with a Kingdom mindset, are full of His Word and have a relationship with Him and are familiar with His direction. A Kingdom Citizen's focus is on obedience and faith in the King's Word (His Constitution,--Bible) If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. Your faith in His Word is your greatest asset.
Put your faith in the Creator, not the created being. Put your faith in His Word, as my wife and I have learned to do. Though it may waver, it never falters, because our faith is not in man but in our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Son of the living God--who IS the Word.
