Many Christians are afraid to mention the name of King Jesus in public affairs, while praying or in a general conversation. It’s not “politically correct”. In the work place, on television and in many sporting events, the name of Jesus is never spoken unless someone is cursing. That is tragic. Believe it or not, there are even some churches that are reluctant to mention the name of Jesus the Christ in their services! The name of Jesus is powerful and offends people who do not have a relationship with Him. Keep in mind His response to Thomas’ question: “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”
He is Lord of the seventh day, in which the Lord God rested after creation. Remember, the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. In response to the religious leaders, when they accused His disciples of working on the Sabbath, Jesus made this statement: But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: how he entered the house of God and ate the showbread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests? Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless? Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple. But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” NKJV Yes, Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Not the other way around. Ambassador Paul is speaking here to the Roman believers: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
His name is above every other name. The Lord God has given His name to every man, woman and child who will acknowledge His as Lord and King. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When He appeared in human form, He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Isaiah made this statement: I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath. NKJV. In any language, His name is still the same. You can’t come to the Lord God except through His Son, Jesus the Christ. Jesus is the name we call on in times of trouble. Jesus is the one we pray to, as He intercedes on our behalf before the Father. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. NKJV
Remember, Jesus is the door to the Kingdom of God, and your faith in Him is what unlocks the door.
