I want you to be aware that there are many references throughout God’s Constitution that also clearly express the Lord God’s original intention. He never intended to create the Earth and then leave it empty. The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men. Psalm 115:16 From the very beginning, even before He formed the Earth, He envisioned it to be filled with plant and animal life of every variety; all of it to be overseen and ruled by mankind, created in the Lord God’s image and exercising His delegated authority.
He chose to create mankind in His own image, a spiritual being, inhabiting a physical body, perfectly adapted to inhabit the natural realm. Remember, the earth was created and given to mankind by God. Any religion, therefore, that teaches leaving the earth to live forever in some other place in the life to come misses the point. If we are eager to leave this earth forever and want to live somewhere else, we misunderstand the Lord God’s intent. Ambassador Paul made this statement while speaking to those in Corinth: But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away. 1 Corinthians 7:29-31 Ambassador John, in his first letter, stated: Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. 1 John 2:15-17 NLT
God’s Constitution also promises that there will be a new earth that will take its place. The Lord God spoke to Isaiah many years before ambassador Paul was on this earth, saying: “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.” Isaiah 58:17 When that day comes, we will have no memory of what was! Ambassador Peter, in his second letter, reminds us of His promise: They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the Word of His command, and He brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then He used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same Word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.
Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, He will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth He has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness. 2 Peter 3:5-13 NLT And finally, ambassador John told of a revelation the Lord Jesus revealed to him: Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Revelation 21:1
If the Lord God’s original intent was for the Earth to be inhabited, then what was going to change with the passing of this present world and why would He create a new one? Keep in mind, mankind’s future in the Kingdom of Heaven will always involve the Earth—meaning a recreated Earth. Always remember, the Lord God’s original intent and His continuing purpose is to extend Earth from Heaven through the rulership of His earthly children created in His image. The most important thing is to be citizens in His Kingdom, with unwavering trust in our Lord and King. He has prepared the way and we are under His care and protection, come what may! “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9
“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” Matthew 25:13 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Matthew 24:44
Remember, your faith in God's Word is your greatest asset in His Kingdom.
