By the way, He is the most important person on this earth.
It was so important for His followers to wait that King Jesus commanded them to wait at Jerusalem until the governor came and baptized them with power. And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Acts 1:4-5
When a person is following the leading of the Holy Spirit—our Governor—they will never make a mistake or error. Our mistakes only come when we make decisions in our flesh. When you love the King’s Word, you will keep His commands and He will guide you to all truth. By the way, the Governor dwells in your mortal body and will be with you forever. Read what King Jesus stated to His disciples: “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” John 14:15-17 Keep in mind that He is known by several descriptions, such as Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Counselor, depending on the version you are reading. But they are all referring to the Holy Spirit--our Governor in the Kingdom.
If you submit to the King’s commands, the Governor will definitely lead you in the right direction. Following the Governor’s lead will always lead you to victory and God’s will for your life, whatever the situation. He is essential to living a victorious life in the Lord God’s Kingdom. The Governor will warn you and lead you away from sin. When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring Me glory by telling you whatever He receives from Me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever He receives from Me.’” John 16:13-15 NLT
Remember that those who are led by the Spirit are known to the King as His children. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:13-14
Those of us who have the Holy Spirit residing in our body trust in the Lord God and have no fear of what the world’s system can do to us. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Romans 8:15-21
Being led by the Spirit is a very comforting feeling to have; knowing that you are in the King’s perfect will and being guided by the Governor. I must say, following the leading of the Holy Spirit gives a calm assurance. “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:25-27
How can we know when someone is being guided by the Governor? This is what being led by the Spirit looks like:
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another. Galatians 5:22-26 NLT
Once again, remember your greatest asset is your faith in His Word.
