When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him! Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may Your name be kept holy. May Your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
The Lord God is the Source, Creator and Sustainer of everything. He created the heavens and the earth, which makes Him the Father of all things. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...This is the account of the creation of the heavens and the earth. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, neither wild plants nor grains were growing on the earth. For the Lord God had not yet sent rain to water the earth, and there were no people to cultivate the soil. Instead, springs came up from the ground and watered all the land. Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person. Note the word heavens are plural! Regardless of what mankind says, there is only one Creator and Father. For the Lord is God, and He created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos.
“I am the Lord,” He says, “and there is no other."
Notice that the Lord God is called Father rather than Mother. That has to do with function. He is our Source and Sustainer. That is because everything came from Him, but He Himself did not come from any other source. Now, in my studies I found that the word "God" means self-sustaining, self-sufficient One. The Lord God is life and gives everything He created life.
Now, here is something that may surprise you. Ambassador Paul made that very clear in his writing to the Hebrews. As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as His own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? If God doesn’t discipline you as He does all of His children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really His children at all. Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever? The only way you may worship the King is through the Spirit and through His Word. But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.
This is why I keep stressing to read, study and obey God's Word. Live it, don't just read it. Make it your lifestyle because your Father God and His Son demands it. The Lord is the Source of all spirits because He created them all. Whatever the Lord creates comes out of Him, whether it is material or spirit, the Lord is still the Creator and Father of them all.
In reminding his Jewish audience, James confirms my statement: So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. Did you notice what ambassador James stated? He, meaning the Father of heaven and earth, is nothing like our earthly father. He always keeps His Word. He cannot lie or go back on His Word. He gave us a second chance to be able to come back to Him, through a new birth, through His Son. He chose to give birth to us by giving us His true word. And we, out of all creation, became His prized possession. Remember who is the Word of Truth! So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
Unlike many in my childhood neighborhood, I didn't have an earthly father in my home. In fact, I didn't have a home. The man that my mother married was a seed donor, but never a father. Not long after I was born, he left us. But the Lord God was there to protect, guide and lead me to my purpose and assignment, as a loving Father I never knew. I give Him all the praise and glory! I remember times when I came across death and my Father God kept me and guided me through every situation while I was in the streets of Brooklyn, New York.
What so many believers don't understand is the nature of the Lord God. His very essence is "Father" because of all Creation. Just a note: Once you are born again by the Spirit of the Lord God, He became your Father and have His DNA. Ambassador Peter made it very clear: You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart. For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. He is the Creator of all things, therefore He is the Father. That comes with having the seed. If you produce the seed, you are the father. That is why a woman could never be a father. The Lord never built her in such a manner. Remember, the Lord God is our Creator, regardless of how much some may refuse to accept it.
Once again, remember that your faith in the King is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
