When He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all Truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13
Our Kingdom Governor—the Holy Spirit—comes to us and speaks the Truth from the Lord God. He is called the Spirit of Truth because He speaks what the Lord God tells Him and we know that God cannot lie.
“Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God.
But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint, and the world listens to them. But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of Truth or the spirit of deception.” 1 John 4:1-6 NLT
Without the leading of the Holy Spirit—the Spirit of Truth—it is only a religious group. They succeed or fail all on their own. An old movie title keeps coming to mind here so I will paraphrase: “I can do church all by myself”! There are churches filled with religious traditions, but they don’t even believe that Jesus actually came to earth in a physical body, died on the cross, and rose from the grave. I once heard a pastor’s wife (I won’t mention the denomination) describe the Bible as “a book of well written fairytales”! That is an antichrist spirit. Once, a family member was telling me about her church and she said that “you don’t have to believe in Jesus or God to be part of our church”. That is just a community organization!
They have been deceived by the spirit of antichrist. Antichrist is literally “against Christ (anointing)”. The antichrist spirit is a spirit of dark deception. They listen to the world, conform to the world’s changing standards, live like the world, and struggle like the world. The deception becomes so strong that they cannot comprehend the supernatural power of God’s Kingdom. That is a slippery slope they are on. They will, in time, deny that Jesus is Lord and King in word and in their actions for all to see. But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you His Spirit, and all of you know the truth. So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies. And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ. Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist. 1 John 2:20-22 NLT
Anyone who denies the Lord Jesus in word or in their lifestyle does not have the Holy Spirit residing in them, or the Father. God’s Constitution makes that very clear. Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. 1 John 2:23 NLT
If you fail to live by God’s Kingdom Constitution, the Governor will not reside in your life. His Word is a priority in our lives. It should come first. It is where we turn when we must make a decision. The Lord Jesus always made it clear. “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. John 14:15-16 That Helper is the Spirit of Truth—the Holy Spirit. Those who live by the world’s standard cannot handle His Truth. The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:17
Keep in mind, we are living in the last hour, as ambassador John wrote. Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. 1 John 2:18-20 Also keep in mind that though we live in time, the Lord God resides in eternity. There is no time limit in His existence.
When you are led and guided by the Governor, you are being guided by His Word that lives in you. The Lord God’s Word is alive in us and the Holy Spirit leads and teaches us through His Word. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 16:26
We are to love and obey His Word with all our heart, to the point that nothing is more important. Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My Words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. John 14:23-24 Our Kingdom Governor knows if we are genuine or not. He is here to fulfill the Lord Jesus’ purpose through every one of His citizens.
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:9-16
We may have a plan and have our future all mapped out. But we must be tuned to and pliable to the Holy Spirit's leading. When we are stiff necked, wanting to do things our way life is harder and it takes longer to get where we are to go!
His plan is far better than anything we could imagine.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there, but water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater, so shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:8-11
Remember, your faith in His Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
