Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
Keep in mind, the Lord God rejected Cain's offering because Cain refused to give the King his best. So many of our religious leaders today also fail to give the Lord God their best and of course, their members follow their lead. If I seem to often "pick on" religious leadership, that is why. They are leading their members down the wrong road, and they will be held responsible for that. My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. You can't live just any kind of a life and call yourself a citizen of the Kingdom in good standing. Do you want to live a victorious Kingdom life or squeeze by, constantly praying for God's mercy and grace because you choose to live a carnal life? He wants the best you have to offer! Don't you want to give Him your best? Yes, He wants your best because you are representing the King and His Kingdom. He must be first in your life. He should have the best you have to offer Him! By the way, that starts with your whole body and mind.
Ambassador Paul said it like this: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. That is a must, if you want to live and exemplify the standards of the King.
Now let us go back to Cain and his brother Abel. The reason Abel was accepted, was because he honored his Creator with his best. Note in verse 4: Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering... The Lord God had no respect for Cain or his offering. ...but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. Remember, the Lord God has His standard and He won't allow anyone to represent Him or His Kingdom if they don't meet His standard. Whatever they do, it will be in their own strength and without God's blessing and direction. Read what the Lord God said to Cain. So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” Did you notice what God said? "but you should rule over it". All Cain had to do was to obey the Lord God's Word. He had a choice. He made the wrong choice. Every day we have the same choice!
If you are a citizen of the Kingdom in good standing (obedient and submitted to God's Word) you should be able to identify with this statement. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. On the other hand, those who fail to activate the Lord God's Kingdom standards that are within them are of the world and will live weak, defeated lives. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. You, my brothers and sisters, when you embrace His Word you activate His standard within you and operate in the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
We are to be an example in every facet of our lives. But that is a process because you must detox yourself from the old way of living, especially that religious mindset. It will take time and the power of the Holy Spirit. How long it takes depends on you. Activate those standards within you. You don't have to do it on your own, just lean on the Holy Spirit within you for strength and direction. Transform your mind by with the Word (Constitution). You can succeed, if you are consistent. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
