Kingdom Citizen, Not "Christian"--What's In a Name?
There is no such individual as "Christian" in the Kingdom. Have you ever heard that statement before? I am not saying there are no believers in Christ. I am saying Jesus never called people to be Christians. He called them to seek the Kingdom of God. We must read and study God's Constitution thoroughly. Too often we fail to take the time to consult with the Lord God concerning His position and laws on situations that confront us.
As I follow King Jesus' teachings and messages, I realize those who were under His teaching, He called Disciples--but only those who allowed His Word to live in them. His disciples obey His Word.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. He made it very plain that He was teaching them the truth concerning His Kingdom, and that it would make them free. ...And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
This name "Christian" was not given by Jesus, but the society of people who wanted to label the followers of Jesus. Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. I have previously stated, if someone can name you, they will define you. For those of us who live by the Word of the King, He calls us friends.
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
Far too many use the name "Christian" but behave in a manner completely opposite of Jesus the Christ's life while He was down here on this planet. They are what ambassador Paul called "Enemies of the Cross".
For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.
Many leaders are failing the followers because they refuse to preach and teach the message that Jesus laid out for us. This is the message of the Kingdom of God. If we are to be prosperous, we must first learn to be obedient. Remember, the message of His Kingdom was so important that He stayed an extra forty days after His resurrection. Then, and only then, did He ascend into heaven.
The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
If the Kingdom of Heaven was so important to Christ, why are religious institutions refusing to preach and teach His message? Many refuse to learn it, because it involves repenting and changing religious tradition. This will put them in a position of having to admit that they were teaching the wrong message. Remember, the Kingdom message is not about religion, but about a government.
We should always remember what Jesus the Christ stated:
And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
Stop listening to those religious leaders and start seeking the Kingdom for yourself. You aren't a "Christian", you are a citizen of the Kingdom of God.
