Kingdom 104: The Sabbath or Seventh Day God's Way Pt 2

And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”
That scripture was the Lord God's original plan for the Sabbath and He passed it on to mankind. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. The Lord God implemented the same procedure for the people of promise (the children of Israel) God took the process of fulfilling the promise that He made with Abraham. Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Remember, it was through faith that we became heirs in the Kingdom.
Let's take a moment to examine what church is today. Church which pastors and other leaders say they were called to by God. Church, for the most part, has become entertainment centers to feed society's insatiable desire to be entertained. They have light shows and singing and call it "praise and worship". That's what you have to do if you want to draw a crowd. The pastors preach feel-good messages that stir up emotions which translates to bigger offerings. All of those things are based on giving the people what they want and not what they need; and definitely not God's plan for the Sabbath.
When I was residing in New York City, I was a member and a leader of a large church for many years. But I always felt that I was missing the purpose that the Lord God had for me. I never felt complete just attending church, singing, preaching about the Bible and leaving sweat-soaked and tired. I was more tired on that day than any other day of the week. On Monday we ask, who did the pastor reach concerning the Kingdom? All that I could hear from those that attended the service was "we had a good time" "did you see brother and sister so and so?" ""the pastor looked really good in his suit" "he gave a word!". While driving home, all I could hear in my mind was But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. The seventh day was made for rest, yet when leaving those church services, I felt I had just left work. I realized that something wasn't right. So, I stopped going to church altogether, but the King had His hand on me the whole time. I am so thankful He kept His hand on me! Remember what the Lord Jesus stated: For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath. Sabbath: a day of rest, recharging and teaching the Kingdom message. God created His creation with a built-in need for rest and to worship Him, then He created the Sabbath day to fulfill that need.
And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! Now that we have received the Holy Spirit (the Governor) we are to lead others to seek the Kingdom. By the way, I was in line to be the pastor of that large church. As I look back now, I realize that the Holy Spirit led me to leave and He protected me while I was in the world. He knew my heart, my purpose that lay ahead of me to this very day. If I had stayed on that path, I would not be here teaching the Kingdom message today. Of that, I am certain. Learn to recognize and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
The seventh day was God's day to rest from all His labor. Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. God made Adam to manage it. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being....Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.
God sanctified the seventh day. It was set apart from the other six days. He did not set it apart so that pastors, other ministers and volunteers could wear themselves out entertaining the congregation. When God's people truly understand what the Sabbath was set apart to be, they will no longer need to be entertained to feel they have been in church. They will come into the knowledge and rest of the Kingdom.
The Lord God our Creator knows his creation. He sanctified the seventh day for rest and to fellowship and communicate with God. This was God's original plan before Adam sinned. The Lord Jesus came to restore that fellowship of the Kingdom.
Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in the King.
