Kingdom 104: Living in the Kingdom Culture
While the Lord Jesus was on the mountain, He began to teach His disciples how to pray. He made this statement:
In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Take notice, each time in His prayer, He stated Kingdom, not any religious organization. The Kingdom of God has its own culture. But before I go any further, I would like to share with you three words and their meanings. 1. Cultivate-a) to prepare and to use (soil, land) for growing crops; to break up the surface of soil around the plants in order to destroy weeds; to prevent crusting and preserve moisture. b) to improve by care, training or study and refine (to cultivate one's mind); to promote the development or growth 2. Cultural-pertaining to culture; more specifically the training and refinement of the mind, interests, tastes, skills, etc 3. Culture-a) the development, improvement or refinement of the mind, emotions, interests, manners, taste, etc b) the result of this refined ways of thinking, talking, acting, etc.
You are being cultivated when you study God's Constitution and you allow it to embrace your thinking and your heart. The Holy Spirit will transform your complete way of thinking. Your lifestyle will change. Hear what ambassador Paul says: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Notice the Lord Jesus mentioned Kingdom twice in His prayer. His Father, the Lord God's Kingdom culture was to be on earth--not a kingdom of religion. That is the world system's idea of servicing and worshiping God. What is it to live the Kingdom culture? In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice...Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine... You have kept all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you... But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’
Obeying the Lord God's Constitution will develop in you the Kingdom culture. The Lord Jesus made this statement while He was here on earth and it is the same today: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Keep in mind, Jesus did come to judge the world, but that will come later. He came to restore the Kingdom and save those who are lost. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.
The Kingdom culture should be displayed in every Kingdom citizen that walks upon this earth. Our behavior is always on display for the word's system to see. The Lord Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
Those of us who live the Kingdom culture are those who are filled with the Holy Spirit. When you live the Kingdom culture, even your nationality and color will consider you to be peculiar. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light Jesus identified with the Kingdom, not the religious culture of His day.
Always remember, your foundation to the Kingdom is your faith in the Lord Jesus the Christ.
