Kingdom 104: Is it Lust, Not Love?
The ambassador Paul made this statement in his letter to the believers at Corinth: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
As I have stated many times, lust is what this world considers to be love. When a man and a woman come together to have sex, they call it "making love". In reality, it is enjoying the pleasures of lust. Keep in mind, the industry of Hollywood has very low standards, if any at all. They have sold you a "bill of goods". They are serving up pigs feet and calling it lobster....a cheap imitation of love! Did you notice what ambassador Paul said? Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up Many husbands and wives are just waiting for their spouse to make a mistake so they can head for divorce court.
Keep in mind, lust is an appetite. When it is finished and gotten its fill, it wants to move on to it's next meal. But the God-kind of love is obedient, it is anticipating your loved ones needs. That is the kind of love that the Governor (the Holy Spirit) brings into your life. Kingdom citizens know the difference between this type of love. This world system promotes teen sex, through music, television and movies. Many Christians have fallen into that deception.
Keep in mind, citizens of the Kingdom of God are like the comic character, Superman--we are from another world. We are born again through the Spirit of God. We know of this world, but we aren't a part of this world. Our body needs this world's food, but our main source of food source comes from the Word of the living God.
Now, I want to remind you, concerning love, we are speaking of God's standards. As I stated before, this world's system has very low standards, if any at all. Sex is a good thing between a man and a woman, but only in the context of God's Constitution (the Bible). God's Constitution presents marriage as an institution that should be highly respected and esteemed above all other institutions. Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Now, allow me to speak on the word lust. Lust is a feeling with very little or no restraints. It is an appetite, not necessarily confined to sex. It is a desire to gratify the senses and bodily appetites. It is an overwhelming desire for a lust for power. By the way, which has nothing to do with the Word of God. At the time, it seems pleasurable, but the end is eternal separation from the Kingdom.
Women, when a man says he loves you, examine his motives. If he truly love you, he must first know you. That is a process, one that takes time. Most of the time when a man says that he loves you, he is saying he is lusting at what he sees of you physically and is driven by the desire to feed a hunger. You must have discernment of the man who claims to love you and his motives. Do not "settle" and lose a most precious gift in the hopes of a fantasy future.
