Kingdom 104: Earthly Holidays Misrepresent the Kingdom
While the Lord Jesus was here on earth, at no time, did He ever celebrate His day of birth. In fact, there isn't any record of Him or His disciples ever mentioning anyone celebrating His birth. Even after His death on the cross, the apostles never celebrated His death or resurrection. But Jesus did make this statement at His last supper with His disciples, which also concerns those of us who are citizens of the Kingdom. And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” The ambassador Paul echoes the same word concerning the last supper with his Corinthian brothers and sisters. For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes. Notice, he never told His disciples to place any day above another. It is something that those who have a mindset for this world's system have chosen to do; especially the religious world.
I find, in most cases, it has to do with money and nothing to do with the Kingdom. Christmas and Easter are very profitable for world business and promotes consumer excess more than God's Word. If confronted, most religious leaders will admit they know this. They know the truth about the origins of Easter and Christmas, but they choose to celebrate it regardless, for various reasons. Mostly, they don't want to upset their members and their traditions. That would be like poking a stick in a hornet's nest! Remember, we all must stand before the judgment seat and answer to Christ for misrepresenting Him and His Kingdom. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Misrepresenting the King and His Kingdom culture is a serious offense. Why? We are His children and His ambassador to assist others in embracing His culture. By embracing His Word, we will be in the process of becoming a changed individual, preparing to be an effective person in His Kingdom. We must be willing to change from that religious mindset to a kingdom mindset. The ambassador put it this way. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Attending a religious institution isn't representing the Kingdom of God. Embracing the Kingdom concept and submitting our will to the Governor (the Holy Spirit). Keep in mind, the Lord God gives us the power of choice--our free will. He will not force His will upon us. Remember who you are: ...do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. Always keep that in the forefront of your mind. When we arise in the morning, and go to sleep at night, always remember that we were created in His image and His Spirit resides in us. Now, if His Holy Spirit resides in you, you should represent Him in what you say, in your speech, in your behavior and in every aspect of your lifestyle.
Remember, your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is your foundation to an effective life here on earth.
