Kingdom 104: Detoxing Your Mind

While the Lord Jesus was here on earth doing His Father's Will, a religious ruler named Nicodemus approached him. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” This man was a ruler of the Jews (the people of promise). This man knew he needed more in his life than what he had. He was seeking the Kingdom. So the Lord Jesus gave him the only key to the Kingdom of God. Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” In order for you to even see the Kingdom, you must be filled with His Spirit as it was from the beginning. Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
What does it mean to detox, or detoxify? It is to remove a poison or a poisonous effect from any living thing, whether it be physical, mental or spiritual. Remember, Nicodemus was a religious ruler and leader. For him to embrace the message of the Kingdom, he had to change the way he taught and thought. Nicodemus realized that it would be a process. Read what he asked next: Nicodemus answered and said to Him, “How can these things be?” Notice that Jesus dealt with him from a Kingdom concept not from his level of belief. Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. The Lord Jesus knew the level of Nicodemus' belief. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
When the King taught Nicodemus that he must be born again, in essence, He told him that he must start from the beginning. He had to detoxify himself from that religious mindset and embrace a new way of thinking. Many people here in the United States and abroad have been taught religious customs and traditions that have nothing whatsoever to do with the Kingdom lifestyle. In fact, many customs and traditions in religions, including Christianity, have hindered and distorted the Kingdom message.
If you want to be detoxed from those things that aren't supported by the Constitution, study the Word. Read it and meditate on it day and night. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. While He was here on earth, Jesus did nothing but quote and obey His Father's Word. It gave Him comfort and joy. The Constitution ( God's Word) will cleanse you. How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Now that is what I call being detoxed from religion and the world's ideology. Again, I say, keep the Word in your heart at all times. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. If you trust in the King's Word, He will always give you an answer when confronted by those who aren't your friend. So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I trust in Your word. I have personally experienced the Lord's Word in my life on many occasion. It will alleviate all your fears...yes ALL! When you obey the Lord God's Word, you will never go astray. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Always remember, your faith in the Word of the King is your foundation for eternity. The Lord Jesus made this profound statement. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
