Kingdom 104: Being Deceived Without a Solid Foundation
As I write this article, I realize that the Lord Jesus' prediction is unfolding before our very eyes and ears. What prediction am I speaking of? The statement that in the 11th hour many will be deceived. Jesus made this statement to His disciples and others around Him. And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
It is very alarming that so many who claim to believe in the the Lord God's Constitution (the Bible) are so quick to embrace another author's book as if it were the Gospel. This can only come about from the lack of studying God's Word. Ambassador Paul made this statement in his letter to Timothy: Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer. Studying God's Constitution should always be a priority. Why? Because it is our foundation for this life and eternity. Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
Those of us who have embraced the Kingdom message and the Lord Jesus as their Savior and King, have a solid foundation against all deception of the evil one. King Jesus made this statement: For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. The key word in that scripture is "if". You have to allow yourself to be deceived. The way you can avoid that is by obeying the Word. If you believe God's Word, you will have no problem in obeying it. Whether you believe it or not, we are living in the eleventh hour. Listen to what King Jesus said to His disciples. “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
You must stay focused on His Word. Stop embracing other authors' books as though they were God's Constitution and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth. When you read books, see how they measure up to God's Word. There isn't any other truth but the Word of God. That is eternal. There was a question asked and Jesus gave the answer raw. Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Now, these are the words of encouragement and life. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."
Those people who are easily deceived and are led offtrack by other books and false teachers, are those who fail to seek the Kingdom. They lose focus of the Word. “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." This requires perseverance and focus. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit (the Governor) and you follow His guidance, it is impossible for you to be misled or deceived. You have a firm foundation that will weather any storm that comes your way. You will not falter in times of trouble!
Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in God's Word and that starts with knowing His Word.
