Kingdom 103: Who Is the Holy Spirit?
This is the question many are confused about. But there is a very simple answer to that question. The Governor (or Holy Spirit) is an extension of the Lord God. It is one of the Trinity. Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. The Holy Spirit is God's gift to us to guide and strengthen us to work the purpose and will of His Kingdom in our life or in a circumstance. Remember, Jesus was fully God even though He was also fully human. Keep this statement made by Jesus the Christ in mind: "I and My Father are one.” God's Son became Jesus of Nazareth for the purpose of restoring His culture (Kingdom). It was a redemptive task in this world. His dual nature never diminished His oneness and equality with the Father.
“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." Notice that Jesus made the statement that He (the Holy Spirit) will bring all things to your remembrance--the things you have learned in His Word. Now, if that be the case, then you must stay in the Word. If you don't read, study and learn anything, how will He bring anything to your remembrance? That is the question. Allow me to remind you what the Lord God stated through His representative Hosea to the children of Israel. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. You can tell, this is one of my favorite scriptures-if I picked favorites!
Now, concerning the oneness of the Holy Spirit: If the Father , Son and Holy Spirit are One and operate as one, then what does that say about all of these religious denominations? Remember, the Lord Jesus made it very clear: "I and My Father are one.” By the way, the word Father in relation to the Lord God doesn't mean father as related to a human father or in the sense of someone who is "greater" or "older". The Lord God isn't "older" than the Lord Jesus. Jesus is eternal as His Father God is eternal. Rather, the word Father refers to God being the Source from which Jesus was sent. So, likewise, the Holy Spirit (Governor) is God and He is equal to the Father and the Son. Jesus made this statement concerning the Counselor: “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
Jesus and the Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit) proceeded from the Father to accomplish the work that still needs to be done on this earth. Remember, the Lord Jesus was sent by His Father to redeem us. The Spirit was sent by the Lord Jesus to empower us. Jesus was sent to restore us, but the Holy Spirit was sent to release us into a Kingdom lifestyle. Always remember, your greatest asset is your faith in God's Word.
