Kingdom 103: Where Does the Governor Reside?
This is an answer that all citizens of the Kingdom should know well. The Lord Jesus made it quite clear. He was speaking to His disciples at the time, but this word applies to us in this present day: “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. If you allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit (the Governor), He will guide you to where you should--and should not--go just as He did with ambassadors Paul and Silas. Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. Remember, the Lord Jesus and His Word are one. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. When His disciples saw Him they were viewing the Word (Son of God) in the flesh. When we embrace the Lord Jesus, we are embracing His Word. From that point on we are to put things in their right perspective. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Nothing short of this is accepted. If He is to be King in your life, He ought to be first in your life. Trust me when I say, the Governor (the Holy Spirit), in conjunction with the King's Son, delegates power to citizens of the Kingdom in order to address all the needs of its citizens. For the greatest impact of the Heavenly Kingdom on earth is for His citizens to be equipped with His power. We as individuals are to spread His culture around by being filled with His Spirit.
The Lord Jesus made the statement concerning the spreading of the Kingdom culture. And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. It is our responsibility to spread the Kingdom culture by the means of preaching, teaching and submitting our bodies to the Holy Spirit. The ambassador Paul spoke this to the Kingdom citizens at Rome: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Allow me to explain: Conformed means "to form" or "mold". World is the normal word for age or era. Instead of being molded by the values of this world, the Kingdom citizen should be transformed, that is changed, by the renewing of the mind. In other words, taking in new information concerning the Kingdom culture. A spiritual transformation starts in the mind and heart. A mind dedicated to the world system and its concerns will product a life tossed back and forth by the current cultures of this world. But a mind dedicated to the Lord Jesus's truth will produce a life that will stand the test of time. Keep this in mind, you can resist the temptations of this world culture by meditating on the Lord God's Constitution and allowing the Governor (the Holy Spirit) to guide and shape your thoughts and behavior. Always remember, your faith in the Lord Jesus (the Word) is your greatest asset.
