Kingdom 103: They Praise Him, But Fail to Obey Him
One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
Down through the years, I have visited many religious institutions and have found that many promote what they call praise and worship services. In reality it is just plain entertainment--empty praise. Too often, they don't read and study God's Word. Without that knowledge, it is nearly impossible to obey His Word. They may read a few verses or a devotional from time to time, but have no real working knowledge of God's Word. They fail to allow the Word of God to guide them to effective Kingdom living. They love to call Him their Father, yet fail to obey and follow His message. What kind of children are we, if we fail to obey our Father?
When you have embraced the Kingdom and applied the Constitution to your daily life and it becomes your lifestyle, you are under the protection of the King. In essence, you will discover your purpose for this life and know how to move forward through the guidance of the Governor (the Holy Spirit). The Lord God's Word is food for your spirit. I ought to know, for I am being filled every day because I am hungry for His Word and more wisdom! God doesn't want your praise without your obedience to His Word. God's character never changes. The Old Testament displays God's character to the people of promise: Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom; Give ear to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah: "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?” says the Lord. “I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed cattle. I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs or goats. “When you come to appear before Me, who has required this from your hand, to trample My courts? Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me.
The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies—I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting. Your New Moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; they are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them. When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you;
Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood."
“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow." The servant Isaiah spoke those words concerning Sodom and Gomorrah on behalf of the Lord God in reference to His people of promise.
Even though those people made the right moves in terms of giving sacrifice and praise, they failed to do what was needed--to obey His laws and principles. It is the same today. There is nothing new under the sun! People attend the buildings of brick and mortar, thinking they are praising God, but fail to give honor to His Son, Jesus the Christ, and obey His message. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Now, I want to make this clear, when the Holy Spirit (our Governor) comes to live in your mortal body, that means you have chosen to live by His Word (obedience). Then and only then will you receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." Then and only then are you considered a Kingdom citizen.
Always remember, your greatest asset is your faith in God's Constitution. That is your solid foundation!
