Kingdom 103: The Simplicity of the Kingdom Gospel
From the very beginning, the Lord God wanted mankind to obey His simple command--to cultivate His creation (earth) with His Presence. All the Lord God wanted was man's loyal obedience. The only knowledge, at that time, Adam was aware of was the knowledge of the Lord God as his Source and Creator. That was the only knowledge Adam needed. God had given Adam his assignment. All Adam had to do was to obey his King (the Lord God). Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
From the very beginning, the Lord God only wanted mankind's allegiance to Him. He wanted Adam to only have the knowledge of his Creator and Source. But by having the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden, He wanted Adam, of his own free will, to be loyal and obedient.
Throughout the Old Testament of the Constitution, you will see the words obey and obedient are the operating words of the Lord God. It was because of the obedience of Abraham and the faith Abraham had in the Lord's Word that he was blessed by God. Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son—blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” It is as simple as that. God wants your loyalty and obedience to His Word, not your sacrifice. This is what God stated through His representative, Samuel, to King Saul. So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.” God's principles and laws haven't changed. His character is still the same. But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. Back then the Lord would implement judgment quickly. ‘Then, if you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins... ‘And after all this, if you do not obey Me, but walk contrary to Me, then I also will walk contrary to you in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
When the Lord God sent His Son to restore mankind in his rightful original state, He told mankind to believe in His Son, as well as obey Him. In the New Testament in the Constitution, it was all about believing His Son and obeying His Word. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” He promised if we believe in Him we will be with Him. The Lord Jesus made it very plain that He was the way. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.... “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. That is how you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, by obeying His Word. Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.
Many people attend religious organizations to learn God's Constitution (Bible), when all they have to do is read, study and obey God's Word. It is just that simple. The Helper--the Holy Spirit--teaches you the rest.
