Kingdom 103: The House Where God Lives
God does not live in your church. The Holy Spirit lives in those who are obedient to His Word and have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Remember, on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit (our Governor) came and occupied Himself inside of the one hundred and twenty people that were in the upper room.
The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me". Notice that the whole house was filled with His presence or "culture"--the culture of heaven. By the way, the Holy Spirit is intelligent. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit (Governor) and began to speak with "other tongues" as the Spirit gave utterance.
The Governor came to live inside mankind, not a building made of brick and mortar. Those of you who are filled with the Holy Spirit are His temple of residence. You are the holy one, not that building where you gather every Sunday and Wednesday or whatever day you choose to gather in your pavilion. The Holy Spirit was sent from God the Father to live with you and in you. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. If all this is true, why do we dump millions of dollars into church buildings and neglect the health and strength of His temple, our bodies? Remember, as I have previously stated, the Holy Spirit (Governor) is an extension of God. Now read here what Jesus said concerning obeying and keeping His Word: Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. It is very important to listen and heed His Word. Keeping and living by His Word hinges on receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. You can't be disobedient to His Word and expect to receive His best for you. The Governor only comes to live with those who are submissive and obedient to His Word. That obedience keeps you in the right relationship with the Son and His Father. Nothing short of that will work. God's grace and mercy saves us from what we deserve when we are disobedient, but we will never receive God's best for our lives until we are filled with His Word and are walking in obedience to that Word by heeding the guidance of the Holy Spirit!
The reason the Holy Spirit is the most important person on earth is that He is your passport to the Kingdom of Heaven. Without Him, you are just another member of a church, organization or denomination. The Holy Spirit wants to come and live in you, but first you must learn to follow instructions. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. He wants to guide you and provide for all your needs, but first you must believe in the Father's Son (Jesus the Christ). then you must believe in His Word. If you believe in His Son, then you must embrace His message, which was given from His Father. And never forget, your greatest asset is your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
