Kingdom 103: Student or Disciple of the Kingdom Pt 3
Now, let us continue where we left off in my last article.
5. The Lord Jesus was taken up to sit at the right hand of the Father, who was the Lord God. Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. Through all of that, the Word became the center and the final power,. So the earliest representatives creed was "Jesus is Lord". What do I mean by creed? It is their belief statement. Once again, the Lord Jesus made the profound statement that He didn't come to destroy God's laws, but to fulfill it. “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." Note that He stated that heaven and earth will pass away. He made a point of saying "not a jot or tittle of His Word will pass away". These are Jesus' words, our King and Lord.
6. The Lord Jesus informed His disciples to stay in Jerusalem. His statement to them "You must wait for the promise made by the Father." And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Remember, the Holy Spirit is our Governor and that the Kingdom is a government and Christianity is a religion. Jesus said "You will be baptized with the Holy Spirit". In essence, the Word of the Lord God became the focus point. This is why I always say to stay in the Word. I must also state what the Psalmist said: This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life. The proud have me in great derision, yet I do not turn aside from Your law.
The Holy Spirit is the key component to being Born Again. These six things constitute the structure upon which citizens of the Kingdom rest. All of them are necessary. You must believe in the Lord Jesus in word and deed; then you must live by His Word. He and His Word are One. If you say you love God the Father and the Lord Jesus, you will keep His Word. Rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you.
