Kingdom 103: Staying Focused on Your Purpose Pt 1
No matter what comes my way, I will always stay focused and true to the purpose for which I was created. That purpose is to preach and teach the Kingdom laws and principles.
Are you aware that people tried to take the Lord Jesus by force and make Him an earthly king? Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.” Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone. Jesus knew His mission and purpose. He also knew who He was and from where He came. Twice in His life they tried to make Him a king; once a secular king and once a political king. My Lord and King made it very plain for all to hear and read. Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” If one stays in the Word of the living God and gives the Lord Jesus the honor He deserves, then and only then, the Holy Spirit will reveal the mind of the Lord little by little. This knowledge I call revelation knowledge. This knowledge comes from the Lord Christ to those who are obedient to His Word as King. Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.” Even thought Jesus was speaking to those unbelieving Jews and religious leaders of His day, they still are relevant in today's world system. By the way, the Lord refused both offers to be king. Keep in mind, He would be King on His own terms or not at all. He was destined to be King of kings and Lord of lords. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: King of kings and Lord of lords.
Remember, after He fed the five thousand, they came to make Him king by force. Their thinking was this: He must be our king for He can supply our physical needs and economic needs and motivate them. Is that like the religious and motivational speakers of the world today? The Lord Jesus had to stay focused and true to His Father's message. So, He went to the mountain to speak to His Father. Jesus was determined to carry out His Father's command. We as Kingdom citizens should have this same mindset. Sometimes you must get alone to sharpen your focus. Prayer would keep His focus single and His vision clear. How much more important it is for prayer to bring us back into focus!
After His resurrection, when He spoke to them for forty days, teaching Kingdom, His disciples asked Him: Will You restore at this time the Kingdom to Israel? In essence, they tried to take His universal Kingdom and jam it into a nationalistic mold. They didn't reject the Kingdom, they reduced it to fit their own preconceived mold. They tried to capture the Kingdom for a nationalistic purpose. This is exactly what Christianity and other religious groups are doing in this modern system. Remember, Christianity is a religion, the Kingdom is a government.
