Kingdom 103: Singleness, Divorce and the Results Pt 2
Many have confused singleness with being alone. Will there ever be a time when you will cease to be separate, unique and whole? Should there ever be a time when you cease to be a single being who is unique and whole? Now, if your answer is no, my next question is: Does getting married do away with this definition of being single? When you get married, do you stop being a single individual who is unique and whole? These questions are to make you evaluate your life!
Keep in mind, the Lord God's Constitution does not teach that singleness is bad, negative or unhealthy. If the state of singleness means to be unique and whole, then to be totally single should be every Kingdom citizen's number one priority. In fact, no one should ever get married until they are wholly single. Until you are a separate, single, unique and whole person you actually aren't ready for marriage. What I have learned during my time in college and other schools, is that many marriage counselors--whether religious or secular--will tell you that the majority of marital problems arise because the husband or wife (maybe both) have not seen themselves as unique and worthy individuals. They have a poor self-image of themselves. They want to marry to be "complete", as if they are not complete already within themselves. They are always dependent on some other person to assure their happiness. Sad, but true.
Please note this: There is no division in the Lord God. Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. If you are truly one with your spouse, there shouldn't be any division in your relationship. Everything that I am sharing from the Word of the Constitution, Arlene and I are living in the Kingdom. Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. You and your spouse should always be on one accord, of the same mind. This is what happened on the day of Pentecost. They were all of the same mindset. When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
When you are of the same mindset, your marriage should get better as you become more single. My wife Arlene and I are striving to be truly single--whole--and I believe that instead of running from being single you should be running toward singleness. Remember the first commandment of the Lord God's Constitution. Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
