Kingdom 103: Leaning On the Governor
While King Jesus was here on earth made this promise to His disciples: “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever" That same promise applies to us--those who keep His laws and principles--today. Once you listen and learn to embrace the message that He presented to us, then and only then will He fill you with the promise of the Holy Spirit. He will only come when you are in one accord with His Word; in other words, making it your foundation for life and your lifestyle. When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
The reason the Holy Spirit (our Governor) came upon and in them as a collective group was because they all had the same mindset and their alliance was to one person, Jesus the King. If you notice, the sound came from heaven: And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. God's culture (His Holy Spirit) filled that whole upper room. That same culture is in those who obey the Lord God's commandment and are filled with His Holy Spirit (Our Governor). One does not receive the Holy Spirit because they are a faithful member of a religious organization which you call a church. Remember, we are the church--people that are filled with His Spirit. Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Many times I have stated that our greatest asset is our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, our King. For it is His Word that will keep us in these troublesome times. If you are truly born again in the new birth, you truly overcome the world.
Many of us depend on books written by men, which is fine supplemental reading, but the Holy Spirit wants us to trust and depend on Him. This is the reason He was sent to earth to assist us with our daily lives. Through prayer, obedience and patience, the Lord Jesus will reveal revelation knowledge (only the knowledge that He possesses). Keep in mind that the Lord Jesus will not reveal His knowledge to those who are disobedient to His Word. Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. Jesus said that if you love Him you would keep His Word. The only knowledge that one needs is the knowledge of the Kingdom. We need to learn how to listen and obey His Word. This is why the Lord God told Adam not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” When He gave these instructions to Adam Eve wasn't even created yet. And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” All man had to do was to obey the Lord God's (His Creator) instructions. One more thing: Adam was filled with the Spirit, but he chose to disobey. It was a domino effect. Eve was deceived by the devil in the serpent, and Adam failed to lead and obey his Source.
