Kingdom 103: Honoring the Father Through the Son
Why are you praying to God, when He has given His Son all authority? He made it quite clear in His Constitution: And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. If we are to be blessed and prosperous, we must first learn how to be obedient to the King's Word. We claim to love the Lord Jesus, but yet fail to obey His commands. Some of us treat His commands like suggestions. “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. Notice, Jesus stated "the world cannot accept Him". The reason for this is "because it neither sees Him nor knows Him". It is very important that we become filled with the Holy Spirit because He is the one that makes a difference through us, and in our mortal bodies. We are to set the standard for the Kingdom, which will affect this present world. In other words, we Kingdom citizens) are to live in such a way that the world can see the righteousness of Christ through us. If we don't, then we have failed as ambassadors and children of the Kingdom to be productive as well as effective.
Remember, earth is the colony of heaven. Having stated that, we owe our allegiance to our King (Jesus the Christ). In essence, whenever someone stands in our presence as ambassadors, they should realize that they are standing in the culture of heaven. Our speech should never be one of gossip or argumentative behavior. As ambassadors of Christ, we represent our "home government". That is what it is to be "born again". We must live our lives representing the Kingdom culture. By the way, one can only do that by being filled with the Holy Spirit (our Governor).
When people come in contact with you, they should realize that you aren't just another average person; but that there is something unique about being in your presence. This is what happened with the disciples. Peter, who was the spokesman, made the bold statement while speaking to the religious leaders of his own nationality: Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone. If this be the case, then why are some of you still calling on the name God? God is who His Father is. His name in English is Jesus. Not "most high" or the "man upstairs". The ambassador Peter again made it very plain: "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in the Lord Jesus the Christ.
