Kingdom 103: Focused and Unshakable
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Yes, that is the message the Jesus commanded us to preach and teach. He is the King who rules over the Kingdom. We need to stop the foolishness and let the world be aware that there is a Kingdom that they can enter that will radically change the total order of their lives.
The message of the Kingdom is so important that the Lord Jesus delayed His return to His Father for another forty days He was teaching His disciples concerning the Kingdom. The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God. One of the reasons the church as you know it isn't more effective at reaching the nations is because we aren't preaching and teaching the Kingdom government message--the message they so desperately need to hear. People all over this planet are looking for the Kingdom of God. They are tired of religion and religious customs and traditions. The Lord Jesus the Christ stayed on point (focus). ...but He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” The Lord was unshakable in His message. Read what He stated to the religious leaders. But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Many are looking for power, but true power and authority lies in the King of the Kingdom. Unfortunately many have sought to get their power through money or financial status in this life. But I recall what the Lord stated to His disciples: And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Keep in mind, those who are financially rich are hoarders. They keep the majority of their finances to themselves instead of helping those in need. Remember why there was no lack in the early church in Acts: Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.
As citizens of the Kingdom, we don't OWN anything but have ACCESS. By the way, the Kingdom of God does not need a non-profit status--or to be subsidized by the earthly government in which it operated. The Kingdom is a government, not a religion. Our King will provide for all our needs. Just as He did while He was here on earth. That is real! After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias. Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased. 3 And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.
Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near. Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”
One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”
Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.” Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”
Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.
Notice, the crowd wanted to take Him by force and make Him king. The Lord Jesus stayed focused on His assignment and purpose. Now, how many of us would have done that?
It is unfortunate that many in the organized church have discovered the King, but don't have a clue about the Kingdom He came to bring to all mankind. I think it is sad that a great majority of those who claim the Christian religion have not experienced the realities of the Kingdom of God and His government, much less committed themselves to the broadcasting of His message. Remember it is His (the Lord God's) message that He sent through His Son (Christ). We are to preach and teach the same message, not our ideas or thoughts.
