Kingdom 103: Be Encouraged Through Difficult Times
Regardless of what we are going through, as Kingdom Citizens, we should always look forward to His promise. Odds are we will go through many challenges, but as Kingdom Citizens who have embraced God's Kingdom standards, we will stand firmly on His Word.
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Remember, the Lord Jesus came to reintroduce the Kingdom of God to mankind and through the offering of His life on the cross, provided the means by which we could enter into that Kingdom. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Did you just hear what He said? Whoever believes in His Son will be restored! Also, He states that His Son did not come to condemn this world at this time. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He also stated that the world might be restored (saved) through Him. All we have to do is believe in His Son. By the way, His Son was the Word wrapped in the flesh. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
A critical part of our introduction to the powerful truths of the Kingdom is about our inheritance as children of the Lord God. Matthew records a parable in the Constitution that the Lord Jesus referred to that inheritance. Please note: The parable itself is about judgment and the distinguishing characteristics made between the righteous and the unrighteous. The King is sitting in judgment and has placed the righteous, pictured as sheep, on His right hand. On His left hand, He has pictured the unrighteous as goats. Remember I stated "at this time"? There will be a final judgment! When the Lord Jesus first came to earth, it was to offer His life to restore (save) this world. but on His return, it will be another situation.
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
This is one of the reasons that it is so important to embrace the Kingdom as the Lord Jesus did, when His Father gave His the command. Remember, an ambassador doesn't render his or her own opinion, but they represent their government policies through their words and their behavior. Those who refuse to embrace the Kingdom message will have to answer for their disobedience.
