Kingdom 102: Violence and the Kingdom
The Lord Jesus made this statement concerning His cousin John the Baptist: “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. What He was saying was that since the days of John the Baptist, an invasion has been under way. A military takeover is in progress, by the way, which no one is aware of except those who have been captured. My question is this: Have you been taken over? I don't know about you, but Arlene and I have been taken over by the Kingdom of Heaven. It has taken over our heart, mind, soul, body and our entire future. It has taken over our attitude and made us a dangerous man and woman to the kingdom of darkness.
Remember, the Kingdom of Heaven is advancing forcefully and we who are citizens of that Kingdom are part of the "advance forces" that must continue to storm the stronghold of the enemy. Be mindful that the world may be against us, but we are able to effectively advance the Kingdom because we have the greater power dwelling inside of us than the power that controls the world system. Remember what the Lord God's Constitution states: You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. By the way, if you are looking for peace in the world, it's not going to happen. Jesus said: These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” So you should remove that thought from you memory because its not going to happen. We can only be victorious by the Holy Spirit dwelling in our mortal bodies. Remember, He lives in us. That is what it means to be citizens of the new order of the Kingdom of Heaven. As kingdom citizens, we don't roll over and play dead for anyone. Yet, we don't go marching through the streets with signs saying "we shall overcome". For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
We advance forcefully in the culture of the Kingdom. Gone are the days of wringing our hands over our hardships, problems, trials and tribulations. We must learn to embrace His truth and walk in the Spirit. Remember what the Lord Jesus stated: Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. Gone are the days of trying to overcome without first going through. Keep in mind, the Kingdom of which we are a part, is so powerful that we need not fear any potential opposition. Another parable He spoke to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.” Kingdom men and women, state strongly, "Bring on the problems and we will advance right through them!" Our Kingdom does not run and it does not retreat. Our Kingdom stands firm, advances and overcomes.
Remember, greater is He (meaning the Holy Spirit) that is in us, than he that is in the world!
Matthew 11:11-12 I John 4:4 John 16:33 II Corinthians 10:3-6 John 17:17 Matthew 13:33
