Kingdom 102: The Kingdom of God is Relevant
The Kingdom is very relevant to every human on planet earth. Notice I stated "to every human" (mankind) not animals. A great modern word in the Kingdom is relevancy. If it isn't related to eternal live, it is of no use to life. This demand for relevance is in itself relevant. The question is, Is the Kingdom of God relevant to the world's condition in the person and in society? By that I mean relevant everywhere and to everyone.
Jesus the Christ knew that the message His Father gave Him to deliver to the world was relevant. The people were hungry for the Kingdom, not religion. They were so hungry that they wanted to keep Him from leaving. Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them; but He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” And He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee. First of all, allow me to define relevance: Relevance implies close logical relationship with, and importance to the matter at hand. You also can use the word pertinent, which means having some connection with the matter at hand. His Kingdom had to be very important for the Lord Jesus to prioritize it.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
I read so many comments and commentaries concerning the Lord God. So many people seem to acknowledge His Son the Christ as our Savior, but do not acknowledge Him as the door to the Kingdom. He gives us access. The Lord made it very plain when replying to His disciple, Thomas. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. God has given all authority to His Son, Jesus the Christ. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” We must look to Him. Jesus is relevant to the Kingdom yesterday, today and forever; all authority has been given to Him by His Father. When you pray, you should always pray to Him--Jesus the Christ--because He has all authority. Believing in and obeying Jesus is very relevant for us today; for it will be His Words that will judge us and condemn us. Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”
