Kingdom 102: The Invasion From Heaven
Jesus knew exactly what it would take and what we would need to live victoriously in this present world system. By sending us the Holy Spirit, He covered all bases. The problem is, many believers have gotten stuck on the cross at Calvary. But Calvary is only the gateway into this majestic Kingdom. The true essence of the Gospel is that we can get back our spiritual connection to our Creator (Father).
Remember this, there is now a power available to us so that we can fulfill our role in the advancement of the Kingdom into the earthly regions. Even now as I write this article, I can feel His presence in my mortal body. This power is made available to us through an invasion of the Holy Spirit into our lives. The Lord Jesus opened the door for that invasion to happen right after He left to be with His Father in Heaven. When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The Lord Jesus promised that He would give us the Kingdom and the power to walk in that Kingdom. He made this statement: But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. It is the Lord God's pleasure and desire to give us the Kingdom. He wants to restore our connection to Him. This is the heart of a loving Father. Read what the Lord Jesus said: “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Are you aware that the death of Jesus on the cross was really a means to an end? Calvary became a cleansing fountain. Anyone who dares to take the plunge into this fountain would become clean from the filth of living in this world and its system. This cleansing would prepare them for receiving the power of the Holy Spirit. After the work was done, the Lord Jesus appeared to His disciples through a closed door and left this commission with them: Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” With the cleansing process complete and now empowered by the Holy Spirit, the disciples were ready to go forward as His ambassadors, taking His Kingdom into all the world. By the way, ambassadors don't go around handing out tracts or religious materials. We are representatives of the Kingdom government. Everywhere we go, the Kingdom of God is there, if we are filled with the Holy Spirit! You represent, not a tract. People will "read" and remember you far longer than the words on a paper. Remember, we have only one allegiance and that is to King Jesus (the Word of God).
