Kingdom 102: Seek the Kingdom, Encourage One Another
I want to encourage you to share the concept of the Kingdom that the Lord Jesus laid out for us while He was here on earth with other brothers and sisters. If you are persistent and consistent in preaching and teaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, you will experience opposition. First you must know your purpose or calling through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is Arlene and my purpose to teach and encourage others to embrace the concept of the Kingdom of God. How? Through our website, emails and social media. I also see in my vision a place in the United States where we will be able to gather and teach the Kingdom of God and train up Kingdom disciples to go out among their people and do the same!
God loves every one of us and we should love our King enough to listen and obey Him. This is one reason He is taking so long to return. He doesn't wish for anyone to be lost. The Lord Jesus, while He was on earth, gave this example: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance." Jesus gave that example after the religious leaders were persecuting Him for being around sinners or those who were disobedient to the Lord God's commandments.
Notice, it didn't state that Jesus was playing games with them or laughing and having fun with them. It stated that they (sinners) drew near to Him. They were hungry for the Truth of the Word. They were seeking the Kingdom. All His time was spent sharing the Kingdom with them. Regardless of where He was, he fed the people the Word, sharing the Kingdom message. And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. He always knew His priority. He also was aware of the length of time He had to deliver His message. We on the other hand, don't know how long we have to discover our purpose. This is why it is so important to listen, read and obey His command. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. The Lord Jesus gave us another example of our importance to Him. “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” These two examples show us how important both of these individuals searched diligently and didn't give up until they discovered that which was lost. This is what it means to seek. We are to pursue the Kingdom of God with determination and vigor.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!" To seek also means to study. We are disciples as well as ambassadors. Disciples are students and they seek knowledge and understanding. In the same way, Kingdom citizens must be students of the Kingdom and its Constitution. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.
Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in God's Word.
