Kingdom 102: Purpose
"The greatest tragedy in life is not death; it is life without a purpose" Dr. Myles Munroe.
I agree! I must say, that is a statement of truth. The most important discovery in life is the discovery of one's purpose. That comes through seeking first His Kingdom. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Purpose is defined as the original intent or motivation for something. Purpose is the reason something was created; it is why it exists. When you have sought the Kingdom with your whole heart and mind, then you will truly discover your purpose for being on this planet. The ambassador Paul stayed in his purpose until the end. For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
As I have stated before, without a clear understanding and purpose for life, your life becomes an experiment. Remember, where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. Without knowing your purpose, activity has no meaning. Time and energy will be misused. Purpose determines what is right. Purpose keeps us focused. Purpose protects us from doing something good at the expense of overlooking the right thing. Purpose is the predetermined, established, intended result of something or someone.
In God's Constitution, King Solomon expressed the critical importance of the concept of purpose in his book of Proverbs in this way: There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand. This statement implies the priority of God's purpose as compared to a plan of action. It suggests that the most important thing is that His Will and purpose is accomplished. It is His Will that is a priority, regardless of your plans. This is why it is so important to be submitted and led by the Comforter (Holy Spirit). When discussing God's purpose and plan for humanity, we must always focus on Jesus' assignment and the message that He taught and preached while on this earth.
