Kingdom 102: Preparation for the Counselor (Holy Spirit)
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. The ambassador Paul wrote this part of a letter written to the believers in Ephesus. It is very important to the Kingdom that the world system sees that our behavior comes in line with the Word of the King. If you don't have the Holy Spirit in your life, you are not a real Kingdom citizen. It is His Spirit that causes you to be a genuine citizen of the Kingdom. He is the one that gives you the power to live this Kingdom life in obedience to the King. Without Him, you are living--or trying to live--it in your own strength. When the ambassador Paul makes the statement "walking in the light", he is referring to the King's Word (obeying Him). Now, John, the disciple in which it was stated Jesus loved, made this statement: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. Again, he was referring to living by God's Word. Remember, the Lord Jesus was the living Word in the flesh. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Having stated that, read what the Lord Jesus said: Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Do you see why it is so important that we read and study His Word in print? You must always keep in mind that Jesus is the focus of our faith for He is the living Word. The Lord God has given Him all authority. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. My advice to those of you who trust and believe in the Lord Jesus is this: "Don't sweat the small stuff. King Jesus has been given all power in Heaven and Earth and He sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding on our behalf". Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Once we turn our trust toward the Lord Jesus, we are introduced to a new power to live our lives. That power also enables you to fulfill the commission as an ambassador of the heavenly Kingdom; a commission that He will never rescind. As a true son of the Lord God you are now connected to the government of the living God. Now begins the process of tutoring you to rule as royalty. This grooming process is the work of the Holy Spirit (the Counselor, Comforter and Helper).
Our entire life should be submerged in obeying Jesus' Word. Why? Because they are His Father's Words, just repeated by Him. The Lord Jesus made it quite clear when speaking to the religious leaders. Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him. Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”
It is the same in this day. Christians and many other religious people talk about God's Words when it benefits them, especially in tithes and offerings. Again, the Lord Jesus makes it very clear: Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.” So, if the Lord Jesus obeyed His Father as the perfect ambassador, shouldn't you? Shouldn't we all?
