Kingdom 102: Mankind's Knowledge

There is only one bit of knowledge that is eternal. It will last long after this earth is gone. That knowledge is the Lord God's Word. Only the Word of God is eternal. Everything else is no more than dust in the wind. The Lord Jesus made this statement: Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. The Lord God's first law to Adam was: Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat... He also told Adam what NOT to eat, and the end result of being disobedient to that law. ...but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.
Keep in mind, whenever the Lord God spoke, it wasn't a suggestion, it was a law given from the King. His statement of the tree of knowledge of good and evil was just that--a law. It gave you knowledge of good thoughts and evil thoughts. Prior to that, the only knowledge Adam had was that of the Lord God's Word. There was no other language, command nor law that Adam knew of except His Creator's language; in essence, the King's language. However the very moment that he (Adam) became disobedient to the King's law, their paradise was lost and he and his assistant (Eve) were expelled from the Garden of Eden. Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.”
Please realize, the very moment that Adam took and ate of the tree of good and evil a floodgate was opened in his mind. The first thought that came to his mind was that he and his wife were naked and afraid. Next came the feeling of shame. The Lord God didn't give Adam (mankind) the emotion of shame. Mankind had nothing to be ashamed of. The emotional feeling of shame came with the knowledge of good and evil. Read what is stated in God's Constitution: Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
The key responsibility that Adam had was to obey the Lord God's command. That statement holds true to this very day. Instead, many people seek more knowledge which contradicts the Lord God's Word. Once Adam's eyes were opened, a floodgate of thoughts and ideas begin to take over his thoughts. Thoughts that were deficient of the Lord's plan for His creation. Have you noticed Adam's (mankind) response when the Lord God called him into question? And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”
When you are full of fear, you will mostly likely fail to take responsibility for your actions. If Adam would have just been obedient and followed the Lord God's instructions, he would have peace just by obeying the Lord God's Word. If Adam would have just trusted in the Lord God's Word and not be persuaded by his wife to disobey the Lord God's command, he would have had total peace. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
The knowledge that we should obtain is the knowledge of the Kingdom and the occupation of which we are involved. That is because we live in a fallen world and have to work for our livelihood and our families. It is because of Adam's lack of trust in the Lord God's Word that we are in this situation. If Adam had just followed the Lord God's command, I wouldn't even have to write this. But here we are! Always know the difference between mankind's knowledge and the Lord God's knowledge in your mind. It the two are getting muddled together, you need more time in God's Word.
Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in the Word of the living God.
Mark 13:31 Genesis 2:16-17; 3:17-19; 3:7-12 Isaiah 26:3
