Kingdom 102: Knowing How to Apply the Kingdom Concept
So often, we hear people needing a "breakthrough". They're "sowing a seed for a breakthrough" and "praying for a breakthrough. In the Kingdom, we don't need to pursue a "breakthrough". That is not Kingdom living! First and foremost, we must embrace His Word! We must learn the act of being obedient. How do you do that? By making your number one priority reading and studying God's Constitution every day. Allow His Word to be the first source that enters your thoughts. There is so much information in this world that will mislead you from the will of God for your life. But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:33-34 To seek after something takes focus, effort and energy on your part.
When the Lord Jesus was here on earth, He came to introduce a Kingdom, not a religion. His first announcement was: “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17 The Lord Jesus followed His Father's instruction to the letter. He made it a priority. By the way, we should follow Christ's perfect example as His ambassadors. He identified the Kingdom message as the first priority of man: Only those who really seek the Kingdom of God will find it. With seeking comes the understanding of the Kingdom and how it operates. Do you remember what the Lord told His closest followers? He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him." Matthew 13:11-12 It is very important that you put first things first. This is where obedience comes to play. One must be hungry for His Word. If you hunger for the Kingdom, then take His Word and apply it to your daily life without exception.
Our first priority, and most important activity in this life, is to seek the Kingdom. Knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom is only given to those who are genuinely seeking for it. I ask you this: How can you find the Kingdom of God if you do not know how or what you are looking for? Remember, the Lord will never demand from you what He does not supply. He will never ask us to do anything He does not first instruct us how to do. God's Constitution, the Bible, is His instruction book to life.
This is the word to Jeremiah concerning the children of promise while being in captivity to King Nebuchadnezzar: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13 The Lord God still wants us to seek Him with all our heart. He wants all of you, all the time. The Kingdom is for us. But seek the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. Luke 12:31-32
We must always take inventory of our life and mindset against the Word of God. We must measure ourselves and see if we line up with His standards. His standards should always be our standards and His standards are in God's Word. Seek the Kingdom with all your heart, always! Only then will the Kingdom concept be applied to every aspect of our lives.
Your obedience and faith in His Word plays a vital part in living a Kingdom life.
