Kingdom 102: Information--Knowledge From the King

Many of us lack the knowledge that will cause us to grow because we fail to seek information that will nourish our thinking. The Lord God made this statement through Hosea, His representative: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Notice, there was an indictment against the priests (representatives) whose duty it was to be the guardians of God's laws and principles. ...that you may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord has spoken to them by the hand of Moses.” So Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. And Moses commanded them, saying: “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of release, at the Feast of Tabernacles, when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God in the place which He chooses, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law, and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land which you cross the Jordan to possess.” These are laws and commands given from a King to His representative. Not from a king to a religious leader. Nowhere in the Old Testament will you ever see the word religion. Why? Because Israel was never a religion, but a nation. That was God's promise to Abram. Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Keep this in mind, knowledge lies at the heart, between two struggles. Knowledge is where the adversary mounts his original attack on mankind. The Lord's character stays the same, whether in the Old Testament or New Testament. Teaching the Lord God's Word is so important. My people (God's people) were destroyed for the lack of knowledge. This happened because the priests (His representatives) had failed to teach God's principles and laws to His people. Because of this action on the part of the priests, the people rejected knowledge. That knowledge of the Lord was life-giving. All we have to do is choose life by obeying the King's Word. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” This still holds true today. The law of God was the source of Israel's life.
When we fail to embrace the King's Word, we fail to embrace the King. Because He and His Word are the same. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made...And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Don't forget, the most powerful weapon that the deceiver has is ignorance, but to use it he must first destroy or distort true knowledge. This is exactly what he did in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. He deceived and overcame them by attacking the source and substance of their knowledge. The first thing that the Lord gave Adam for their protection, was information. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” In this, Adam received knowledge; he knew what his boundaries were and what was expected of him. Further more, he passed this knowledge on to Eve after she appeared on the scene.
