Kingdom 102: Information--Knowledge From the King Pt 2
Let us continue. Satan, the deceiver, was very subtle in his approach to Eve. He didn't launch a direct attack on God's command, but sowed seeds of distrust in the mind of Eve. This led them to doubt and question the truth and veracity of the Word and knowledge of their Creator, and to doubt the Lord God Himself. Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Please note: As long as they obeyed their Creator and Source, and respected His boundaries, they would live in prosperity and enjoy unlimited fellowship with their King (Creator). If Adam and Eve would have focused on God's instruction (commands), they would never have had wickedness or evil. They would not have known shame. God's Constitution made it very clear. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” Remember, without that knowledge, though naked, Adam and his assistant (wife) felt no shame, because they were in good standing with their King. The craftiness of the serpent led them to replace God's information with his. Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” This conversation should never have taken place. Why? God's Word is sovereign. His commands should never be in question. That conversation led to disobedience (sin), then they became aware of their nakedness and ashamed. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. This is one of the main reasons so many men drift into pornography. They view and acquire information through magazines and the internet. Information may be good, but all knowledge isn't healthy. Some information just doesn't need to take up residence in your mind!
"Did God really say....?" That question gave in to doubt. Why? He questioned his King and failed to embrace his King's (Creator) commands. The response changed the course of all mankind. Keep in mind, the woman was deceived, but the man (Adam) was disobedient. When the Lord's presence entered the Garden, He called to the man (Adam). Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” Adam was the leader. It was his responsibility to follow God's Word to the letter.
As a result of Satan's ploy, mankind developed a distorted understanding of the knowledge the Lord God had given them. Just look around in this present day. So much religion, but so much distortion of His Constitution (Bible), because so few actually have His Holy Spirit residing in their mortal bodies; or have stopped listening long ago.
