Kingdom 102: Fusing a Kingdom With a Democracy
Bringing a kingdom and democracy together just won't work, because the Kingdom and a democracy are of two different worlds. One was created by mankind, the other by the King of the universe (the Creator). This is why it is so difficult for believers who were born in a democracy to embrace and live a strong Kingdom life. Many have a difficult time embracing the Kingdom concept. Many want to debate the issues or interject their thoughts and opinions. They try to reach a consensus or compromise to keep everyone happy instead of simply recognizing that the King's Word is law. Christianity is the same way. They want to change or reinterpret the scripture to suit their behavior. If the Lord God states that homosexuality and adultery are wrong, then it is a done deal. His Word is sovereign. You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion....do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals...
The matter isn't open for discussion. No matter what humanistic philosophy is taught from its pulpits or in the schools, or proclaimed in our courts, the Lord God's law is absolute. In a democracy, citizens can gather to protest governmental policies and form committees and groups to lobby the legislative bodies to change the laws. That doesn't happen in a kingdom. God's Word is absolute in His Kingdom. No protest in this world can change His law because it is set down for all to see and read in His (Bible) Constitution of the Kingdom of God. In His Constitution, the King has decreed that adultery is disobedience (sin). You shall not commit adultery....‘The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death. Obviously, we do not put people physically to death, but there is a spiritual death--which is separation from God--and eternal death (damnation).
These decrees and others like them are stronger than stone because they are the Words of the King. His Words are law and they will never change. If you claim to be living the Kingdom life, you can't constantly be forming your own little groups to advance your own opinions or to challenge the Word of the King. In the Kingdom, we do not look at scripture and say "that's not for today". God's Word is eternal and unchanging. Some Christian organizations may alter their theology to suit the culture, but the Kingdom of God alters culture to fit the King's Word. Remember, a Christian is a religious individual. A Kingdom citizen is a citizen of a government and their only allegiance is to the King. We run into problems every time we try to fuse our democratic mentality over into Kingdom life. It will not work. All you will end up with is another religion infused with the world's culture.
