Kingdom 102: Citizens Represent Their Kingdom and Culture

Have you noticed that citizens reflect their country's culture They reflect their country's culture through their behavior, standards and mannerisms. If you want to know about a country, look at it's citizens. A great example of representing their culture is Daniel (Belteshazzor, a name change given by King Nebuchadnezzar) To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego. Daniel and his three companions refused to eat the food of the Babylonian culture. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Daniel and his associates represented the Lord God by not eating food that was forbidden by the law. (the law of Moses that was handed down by the Lord God) Please take the time to read Leviticus!!
God's laws were given to Moses for the good of His people. Even to the point of how to prepare food and what not to eat. If you stay faithful and obedient to the King's commands, He will show you favor with your enemies, just like He did with Daniel and His three associates. Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs. Back then, Daniel and his associates did not have the Holy Spirit (the Governor) living in them. Neither was He offered to them. but the Power of the almighty God operated on their behalf. We have the promise of the Holy Spirit if we live and obey the Lord God's Word (meaning His laws and principles). These laws and principles are reflecting His culture and is a reflection of Him. Jesus made if very plain while He was down here on this earth. “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." We who have submitted our lives to the guidance of the Governor should spread His culture and behavior of living everywhere we step our feet. We are a reflection of who He is.
Daniel, without the Governor, reflected Kingdom living even while in captivity in another culture. Daniel's life and behavior pleased King Darius so much that he had favor with the King. It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom; and over these, three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss. Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. Now this was without the Holy Spirit (the Governor) living inside him. What does that say for those of us who have the Governor in us and with us?
Remember, your faith in the Word of God is your greatest asset. It is your foundation for this kingdom life, no matter your current culture.
