Kingdom 102: A Clash of Cultures
There is only one legitimate culture and that is the Kingdom culture. It does not matter what individual becomes president or who is the governor of your state. It doesn't matter who is the king or queen of your country. There is only one true government and it belongs to Him whose throne will never be moved or toppled. Heaven is the earth's legitimate culture. His rule in Heaven is eternal, without beginning or end. But He also created the Earth and established his Kingdom there as well. In Hannah's prayer in God's Constitution, she made this statement: "He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them."
Keep in mind that the words earth and world often are used interchangeably, but here they refer to two different things. Earth refers to the place, the physical planet on which we live; while the word "world" refers to order or governing affairs. The Lord God created the physical Earth and then set on it the "world" of His government and divine order. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Earth then, has to deal with location while the world has to deal with who is running things.
Concerning the culture of this world, God made it very clear concerning His principles and laws. Here they talk about sexual sins and perversions. You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, nor shall you take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness. They are near of kin to her. It is wickedness. Nor shall you take a woman as a rival to her sister, to uncover her nakedness while the other is alive. ‘Also you shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness as long as she is in her customary impurity. Moreover you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, to defile yourself with her... You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion. An abomination is 'a thing that causes disgust or hatred'. Perversion means 'sexual behavior or desire that is considered abnormal or unacceptable'. Specifically it is 'anything that is used for a distorted or wrong purpose'. Any time we take what God created for a specific purpose and use it for another purpose, we are perverting God's creation. I write this to you because the world system today wants you to believe that this behavior is to be accepted as normal. God's principles, laws and character are unchanging. They are not altered by the current culture. They are eternal. For those who commit such crimes of disobedience against our Lord and King, there will be a judgment day. The ambassador Paul made it very clear. (He was writing concerning believers taking other believers to court) Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
Have you noticed that the entertainment industry--specifically movies & television--promotes homosexual behavior as being normal and socially acceptable? Even those in Christianity have embraced, or at least turned a blind eye to, that lifestyle. The male is emasculated and reduced to comic relief--a punchline. These truly are the signs of the times. Remember, those who embrace this world's culture will fall short of the Kingdom. Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. Now, ambassador Paul was writing to the saints at Corinth, but doesn't this fit many here in this present age? We should guard our minds and our thoughts. Our bodies belong to the Lord God. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. I encourage you to read the whole chapter of I Corinthians 6. You cannot pollute the Kingdom with the world's culture and still enjoy Kingdom living! You are deceived. Look around and you will see you are only a citizen of this world, with all of it's pain, suffering and lack.
Remember, you are not your own. You have been bought with a price.
