Kingdom 101: You Must First Be Reborn
I know this statement sounds very familiar, and believe me when I say this...it is a statement of truth. Hear what the Lord Jesus told the religious ruler Nicodemus: Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Be aware that He only spoke of this once throughout the four Gospels. The Lord also stated that without this process, one can't even see the Kingdom. Through the Lord Jesus, we may enter the door of the Kingdom and begin to live and think and act like who we really are--children of the King. In the Constitution of the book of John, the Lord Jesus refers to it as being born again.
Keep in mind, that being born again is a step. It is an indispensable step, because we cannot get into the Kingdom without our spirit being born again. Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. But that is only step one. Being born again is merely the first step in a process of a whole new life. It is a journey of learning to know, appreciate and experience our rights, privileges, and responsibilities as Kingdom Citizens.
Many preachers and leaders spend their time preaching of the person of Jesus and not on the message His Father gave to Him to preach. We spend all our time focusing only on that first step and miss many of the joys and blessings that lie beyond the door. Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. Jesus made it very clear. There are many mansions in the house of the Lord God. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. But we will miss experiencing the wonders of His Kingdom if we choose to go no farther than the front door.
We must go through the Lord Jesus to get to the Kingdom. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. The Lord God is the King. He sent His Son to deliver His message in signs and wonders. His message was "turn around and seek the Kingdom first". But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
John 3:3, 5; 10:7-9; 14:1-2, 6 Matthew 6:33
