Kingdom 101: The Lord God Promised a Kingdom
Please understand, the loss of the Kingdom of God or Heaven on earth was considered rebellion against the eternal Kingdom of Heaven and creating of a state that wasn't authorized. Earth became a territory under an illegal government. While Adam committed high treason in failing to believe and obey the Lord God's Word, the instigator and deceiver--the devil, the evil one--executed an earthly coup. Please keep in mind, man didn't lose heaven when he fell, but rather he lost earth and his dominion over the earth. In other words, he lost his legal representation of heaven on earth. Adam was defeated because he failed to obey the Creator's command.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Take note, this death was not referring to a physical death, even though this would occur eventually. But rather it referred to man's disconnection of the spirit from his Source and the Kingdom. This is evidenced by the fact that Adam lived to be 930 years of age after the act of his disobedience. And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters. So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died. Therefore, death from man's Source was disconnection and independence from the Lord God as well as from the Kingdom of Heaven. Adam (mankind) lost the Kingdom (not a religion). The consequences of this rebellion were numerous.
A. Loss of position and disposition
B. Transfer of responsibility
C. Self-consciousness and shame
D. Fear and intimidation of authority
E. The loss of dominion over nature
F. Frustrated toil and hatred of labor
G. Pain and discomfort; and
H. The need for human accountability.
God's most significant response to this treason and treacherous act was His promise to the adversary: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” The phrase "you shall bruise His heel" refers to Satan's repeated attempts to defeat Christ doing His life on earth. "He shall bruise your head" foreshadows Satan's defeat when Christ rose from the dead. A strike on the heel is not deadly, but a crushing blow to the head most definitely is. Already the Lord God was revealing His plan to defeat Satan and to offer salvation to the world through His Son, the Lord Jesus the Christ.
