Kingdom 101: Rulers Become the Ruled
When Adam and Eve disobeyed the King in the Garden of Eden, they didn't lose heaven, but gave up their Kingdom on earth. When Eve listened to Satan and Adam listened to Eve, and chose to disobey God's command, they committed high treason and surrendered their ruling authority. By abdicating their throne of dominion, they subjected all humans of succeeding generations, to subjugation as slaves of the enemy.
Please note: They who should have been deployed, now became employed by an evil and deceitful taskmaster. The rulers became the ruled; the victors are now the victims; and the kings are now the subjects. This is why it is so important to read, study and obey the Lord God's Word.
If you obey His Word, He will give you the gift that He promised: “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. If you will notice, He stated that He will not leave us as orphans; and the Lord God's Word is sovereign. He will not go back on His Word.
Do you remember the parable Jesus told of the prodigal son? (Luke 15:11-32) He told it to reveal the Father's attitude toward us. Well, the Lord God stands ready to welcome us home with open arms to completely restore our full status as sons and daughters. Our problem is that too often we accept only the contract that the prodigal son wanted: to be a servant in His father's house. And so it is, many Christians refer to themselves as servants of the Lord God. That is because they have embraced someone else's name for them.
Back in the Old Testament, all those the Lord God used for His service were servants. Why? Because they didn't have the Holy Spirit residing inside of them. Many of us want to be servants of the Lord God, and although that is certainly what we are as believers, there is so much more to our relationship than that. By the way, if we settle for just being His servants, we will miss out on much of the joy of knowing the Lord Christ and the fullest and deepest aspect of Kingdom living. Too many Kingdom citizens only know how to be workers in the field and don't know what it means to be a son in the mansion. King Jesus made this statement: No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
Keep this in mind, Christ is our Savior by divine circumstance, but our elder Brother by a natural spiritual genealogy. God's Constitution in Hebrews states: For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren. Lastly, King Jesus made this statement: Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”
